This is a recording made inside a small restaurant in the Xintiandi tourist area, near Old Shanghai, where the late afternoon Zither performance and patrons had me daydreaming of an era long gone, where teahouses where still the place to be. The third file is a recording (alas!, rather windswept) in the fabled fortified city of Pingyao, in a historical teahouse, but where Zither is only ever heard in recorded form by now.
